Paler opaque Tanzanite has a delicate periwinkle color. We researched to learn it is supremely rare coming from only one place in the world, the Merelani Hills of Tanzania in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. It has mesmerizing color and some of the trichroic properties of clear Tanzanite. When viewed in different directions or light, different colors appear. In this piece the colors of blue and purple are evident.
